SKY Taekwondo in Bristol has been running successfully since 2004, our martial arts club is open to general public and we are the parent club to UWE and UoB university Taekwondo clubs.
We have classes for Kids (5yrs+) and Adults. Our main aim in training is to develop fitness and skills for competition success along with building strong attributes from the martial way of TKD

UWE Taekwondo is one of best performing university sports clubs in the country. Our new team from University of Bristol have had a great start with our own Luke BM leading the way. We are mixed club and are open to all UWE/UoB students, alumni, students from other establishments (age 15yrs+) and non-students.

As a member of SKY Taekwondo you will practice the Olympic recognised style “WTF” (World Taekwondo Federation) version of this fantastic Korean martial art. The club caters for everyone, from complete beginners to black belts, and you don’t need to be fit and flexible before joining SKY Taekwondo, although you soon will be!

Whether you looking for a fun way to keep fit, or to compete in competitions, our club SKY Taekwondo has a lot to offer. You will also be given the option to attend various competitions, seminars and fight camps which can take you as far away as South Korea.

SKY Taekwondo Bristol at MYGYM Bristol prides itself on creating a fun learning experience for your child/children.

As a member of SKY Taekwondo Bristol your child will practice the Olympic recognised style “WTF” (World Taekwondo Federation) version of this fantastic Korean martial art which opens a pathway to compete at the Olympics if that is the goal for your child.

Our club has fully qualified instructors on hand to help your child develop his or her skills. All instructors have valid CRB certification so you can be assured your child is looked after in a safe environment. Kids Olympic Taekwondo here has childrens’ classes to accompany our Adults’ classes (UWE, Bristol Uni and non-students) available and ensures a good Master to student ratio to ensure the children have the best learning experience possible. Parents are able to join in with their child should they wish to do so, making classes open to families to partake together.

Children benefit greatly from Olympic Taekwondo; main improvements will be seen in the following areas:

As part of Kids Olympic Taekwondo here, children will experience a positive club spirit through classes, seminars, competitions & social outings. They will have the opportunity to progress through regular training and gradings.

Traditional Taekwondo

The style of Taekwondo we teach develops concentration, speed, power, strength, accuracy, balance and coordination. In its purest form, the essence of training is “Mind over Body” seeking deeper than just acquiring physical strength and skills. This program strives to improve the individual through self-discipline, self-control, self-confidence, patience, humility, respect and perseverance. At the same time, it is an excellent way to stay in condition since practicing utilizes every single muscle in the body.

Here at SKY Taekwondo, we teach “Traditional Taekwondo’ utilizing modern teaching methods and strategies”. What this means is that while we focus on developing the concepts of mutual respect, courtesy, integrity and self-control, we do not ignore developments in modern physical and “practical” training, expanding our Martial Arts knowledge in general.

This Program is for everyone as no matter what your level of fitness, your age or experience you are able to work at your own pace in a friendly but dedicated environment. We believe that Taekwondo can give you everything we have mentioned above and more so give us a call and start your journey to becoming a Black Belt in Taekwondo.



Here we step up the fitness to a whole new level, concentrating on either

  • Lower body,
  • Upper Body,
  • Core Strength or Cardio each week.

This will give those who want to succeed in the sport a great way of becoming stronger and fitter than your opponent giving you the edge. Also people who want to stretch themselves after the Traditional Taekwondo Class will be welcome again giving you the burn that most people think that you can only get in the gym! The classes are designed to raise your level of fitness in order improve your performance in Taekwondo, hence fitness sessions are based around preparation for combat unlike many gyms and health clubs.
